Statment

These paintings were all painted en plein air during the June through August 2024 Fire Island season. I'm attracted to iconic views of the natural flora on the island, and have chosen to avoid depciting evidence of the many beach homes and island life. My intention is not to critique settlement, but draw attention to the emotional resonance of the landscape itself.
