Plein Air Painting is a skill anyone can learn

Drawing on lessons from Baroque landscapes to the Hudson River School and Peredvizhniki movement, I approach the study of landscape painting as a study of an ancient language. Just like any spoken language, painting the landscape can be learned and understood by anyone.

In my workshops I teach an organized process that can be applied to even the most complex scenes. I encourage a slow approach, and believe in investigating beyond our initial impression.

Whether you have never drawn before and want to experience something new, or you are a seasoned artist looking to learn more about traditional landscape techniques, I am eager to share what I've learned.
